Gardening Club

The club was formed in 1996 when a new village hall was in prospect.  Over the years the Club's popularity has spread far and wide; this year we have 65 members and many visitors at each meeting.

The calendar is arranged to give eight speakers or workshop evenings and three local visits, on the first Tuesday of the month, except January.  A wide range of subjects is planned to suit all tastes and abilities.

A plant stall (not at all meetings), free refreshments and a raffle of desirable plants aim to encourage the social side of the club.

Noteable speakers over the years have included: Fergus Garrett, the late Christopher Lloyd's head gardener; the curator of Aberglasney, Graham Rankin; Simon Dorrel, garden designer of Hampton Court Gardens at Leominster and more recently Philip Aubury, Director of the Birmingham Botanical Gardens.  We have now included a trip to Highgrove the home of HRH The Prince of Wales on our past garden visit list.
